Lola’s Story

Lola is a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog and Shepherd mix with a vibrant personality and a love for life. At approximately 55 pounds, she’s a bundle of energy and affection, always ready for a hike, a romp in the yard, or a cozy cuddle session. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children, making her a great fit for a lively household. Despite her incredible qualities, Lola hasn’t found her forever home yet—she’s a true gem waiting for the right family!

Lola lacked some early socialization, which led to challenges in a previous foster home where she jumped up on children. That family didn’t take the time to work with her, but with attention and guidance, Lola is coming into her own at 2 years old. She’s a bit of an escape artist, known to jump fences, but she reliably returns to the front door after her backyard adventures. Lola was previously adopted, but an attempt to crate her on the first day caused her to panic, indicating she needs a crate-free environment and time to adjust to new surroundings. Having been in a stable foster home for a while, she’s ready for a patient family who can provide the structure and love she needs to thrive.

Ideal Home

Lola would thrive in an active home with owners who can match her playful and athletic energy. She’s great with other dogs and children, making her a fantastic addition to a family that loves outdoor activities or has space for her to run and play. However, her new family should be prepared to provide consistent training to address behaviors like jumping and her fence-jumping tendencies, ideally with a secure, supervised yard. A crate-free environment and patience during her adjustment period will help her feel secure. Lola’s intelligence and athleticism make her a great candidate for activities like hiking, training, or playtime, and her loyal, protective nature ensures she’ll be a devoted companion.
