Jax’s Story

Born on May 19, 2023, Jax was adopted as a puppy but returned to the rescue. This Mountain Cur, Australian Cattle Dog, and Rat Terrier mix is a high-energy dog with an eagerness to please that sets him apart. Jax has undergone professional board-and-train training and knows commands like sit, down, shake, drop it, and stay. He’s currently fostered on a farm, where he loves following his foster around and helping with chores. While he gets along with cats and other dogs, Jax would thrive best as the only dog in a home, as he can be possessive of his person and toys. He needs a confident owner who can provide clear direction and gentle corrections to keep his youthful spirit in check.

Jax is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, camping, or a leisurely neighborhood stroll. His agility and drive make him a great candidate for activities like agility training. He’s also a fantastic companion for farm life or any active setting where he can stay engaged and close to his person.

Ideal Home

Jax would flourish in an active, adult-only home with no children, where he can be the sole pet and receive plenty of attention. He’s great with cats and can coexist with other dogs but prefers to be the star of the show. A home with opportunities for outdoor adventures or structured activities will suit his energetic and intelligent nature. His new owner should be prepared to provide clear boundaries and engage his quick mind and agile body.
